TORRE EUROPA, M.U. Tower Renovation. Madrid

01. Challenge

Originally designed in 1985 by architect Miguel de Oriol e Ybarra, Torre Europa stood as a landmark in Madrid’s business district, opposite Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. However, by the time of the competition, the 116-meter tower was 60% vacant and in need of significant upgrades. The challenge was to restore its prominence while achieving a Net Zero Carbon footprint.

02. Solution

Our approach prioritized sustainability, innovation, and urban integration. We: Reconfigured the ground-floor lobby to create a welcoming and efficient space. Developed a new public plaza, enhancing Madrid’s urban fabric. Modernized the façade by replacing brown concrete columns with sleek stainless steel.
